Mr. Bruce Chung, Chairman of Delta Electronics and President Wen-tsuen Chen jointly broke ground for the construction of a green classroom building on October 31st, 2008. The building is funded by Delta Electronics with supplementary funding from the "Project of Promoting Academic Excellence."As a gesture of gratitude, NTHU named the new building Delta Hall.

Delta Hall will be a nine story building with two basement floors. Completion and occupancy of the new building is expected in September 2010. In line with Delta's mission "to provide innovative, clean and efficient energy solutions for a better tomorrow," the building is designed to make the best use of solar energy. The Architecture and Building Research Institute, Ministry of the Interior, has selected the building as a candidate of "green building" based on six criteria. When completed the Delta Hall will provide classrooms for the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Department of Material Science and Engineering and Institute of NanoEngineering and Microsystems. Its exterior will carry a red color scheme, and designs that emphasis the spirit of NTHU – equal emphasis on humanities and technology.

President Chen expressed his gratitude for Delta's contribution and their long term support of the University, including the Sun Yuan-suan Chair of Technology, research awards for new staff, industry and academic cooperation and the cultivation of technology management talent. He believes that such cooperation between Delta and Tsing Hua will produce new and outstanding talents for Taiwan. Mr. Bruce Cheng said he was delighted to be involved in the construction of this new building, as academic advancement is not only the foundation for a country but also the spring of innovative industries.
