Students from both NTHU and Chiao-Tung University always revel in the memories of the Meichu games. Recently, as part of the homecoming and NTHU anniversary celebrations, NTHU and Chiao-Tung University held the fifth annual "Alumni Meichu Games."
The games were held on April 10th at Chiao-Tung University and April 24th at NTHU. Events included volleyball, table tennis, badminton, basketball, tennis, soccer, baseball, along with other track and field events. The games are not only an opportunity for alumni to reminisce about memories past, but also engage in some friendly competition and light hearted fun. This year alumni even sponsored the creation of cheerleading team to help cheer the NTHU team on to victory.
Every year more and more alumni take part in the annual event, and as a result additional games have been added. Not only do former students get a kick out of being reunited with their classmates, current students too enjoy cheering on their school's team. "I think it is a wonderful way to reinforce our school spirit across generations," remarked one student. "My classmates and I have already decided that we will partake in the games when we become alumni." "It will not only be enjoyable, it world also allow us to re-live our college life again!"
