The University has paid special attentions to the teaching of basic courses. Junior level students are required to take all courses that are pertinent to build the foundation for advanced studies. For the senior level students, the University provides more freedom and selectivity so that they can acquire the necessary knowledge for enriching their career. Another unique feature of the University is the design of special "academic programs" that are objective- oriented and multi-disciplinary. Two examples are the Education Program that offers students with high school teaching capability, and the Semi-conductor Processing Program that trains students with techniques heavily demanded in the semiconductor industry.
