| Extension Programs
The University provides on-job training opportunities for those who are working and interested in acquiring advanced knowledge. There are currently two kinds of extension programs. Firstly, working persons may be admitted to the Master's or Doctoral programs by taking entrance examinations. Most academic departments also provide professional courses to train, under special agreements, those who are recommended by their employer. Secondly, the University offers summer programs to high school teachers who wish to keep up with the current developments in various academic programs. The University also uses one of its close associations, the Tzu Chiang Industrial Science and Technology Services, to offer specially designed classes for on-job training. One notable example is the Semiconductor Training Program which trains and awards certificates to more than 1,000 persons each year. Several academic departments also offer different short-term training courses.
